For Testers
Every Ms.Flâneure pattern is tested by real knitters of various knitting backgrounds and skill levels before release — in English and Korean, across the full size range. Testing is how the patterns earn their precision, and tester feedback shapes the final fit of the garment as well as the writing of the pattern.
Each Ms.Flâneure tester call aims to gather a diverse group of testers. You could be a beginner who just finished a scarf or an experienced knitter with a closet full of handmade pieces. As long as you are interested in knitting, committed to the timeline and willing to make positive contributions to the group, you are welcome.
How it works.
- Tester calls open per design and are announced through the newsletter first, then on Ms.Flâneure's Instagram.
- Applications are open for one week.
- If you're selected, you'll receive an email welcoming you to the tester group, along with the pattern ahead of release. If you do not confirm your participation within 2 days after the email is sent, your spot will be given to the next knitter.
- You will be asked to confirm the size you'll knit, and knit the garment within the test timeline — asking questions and flagging anything unclear in the group chat along the way.
- Testing usually runs about 4 weeks for sleeveless tops and about 6 weeks for garments with sleeves — the exact timeline varies by pattern.
- At the end, you share your feedback through a short form: your measurements, your corrections, how the garment felt to make and wear, and the overall testing experience.
- As a sign of gratitude, you will be gifted the final version of the pattern before its public release.
What I ask of testers.
- A finished garment within the timeline
- Honest and specific feedback
- Photos of your finished piece: worn from a few angles to show the fit, and laid flat to show the construction
Photos help me understand how the garment fits so I can refine the design. They're also how each design is shown on real bodies across the full size range — every future knitter deciding on a size relies on them. By applying, you agree that your finished-object photos may be shared and used in Ms.Flâneure's marketing, always with credit. If you'd rather not appear in photos yourself, that's fine — a worn photo doesn't need to show your face.
What you get.
- The tech-edited pattern before anyone else
- The final pattern as a gift
- Direct participation in shaping the final version every buyer receives
- An invitation to a group of like-minded knitters who share a love of the craft
- A designer who reads every word of your feedback — and answers
Good to know.
- Life happens — if you can't finish in time, let me know as early as you can, so that we can find a solution that works for both of us.
- Selected testers are contacted within a few days of the call closing. If you don't hear from me, please apply again next time — every new call is announced through the newsletter.
- Applications are accepted only through the application form in each call — not by DM, email, or comments on social posts.
- Unless a call says otherwise, testers knit from their own yarn.
Join the pool. Sign up for tester-call updates through the newsletter, and you'll hear the moment a new call opens.
